My name is Kedir Lale. I live in Wolaita Zone Abala Abaya District Abala Chokare Kebele, My family members are 9 in number.

As in ancient times when the rain had not rained for three years, God feed Elijah by sending birds; in this time you are like that for us.

These people were come around here since 16 years ago. Eight years ago, Lake Abaya eroded all our possessions, these people moved from the lower land to the higher but no improvement in our life; when we were on lower land in the rainy season the lake eroded the crop; now again the drought also hitting us in upper areas yearly.

This year, our community suffers a lot the father died because of hunger, children swell because of nutrition. Even though their relatives took them to other places, they died there. Over the last three years, the situation is worsening.

However, no one, neither government nor non-government organizations, like you supported us before. Therefore, I would like to say, God, the creator of heaven and earth, bless you in the name of Jesus Christ.

Shalla is the village I am living in but because of hunger, one of the respected fathers in the community died last week. The other two elders were also in the middle of life and death; we sent them via a donkey cart to the health post. This is our real living situation, that is why I blessed you on behalf of our community repeatedly.

If there were no climate change disturbance, this is the time we were feeding our family from our farm, but now we are a beggar; we are waiting for something from someone else, as have nothing. Not only has this timed but as we lost all our crops, the coming season will also be very difficult for us.

God bless you and the supporters behind you for saving our lives from death because of hunger and drought; like as the elders I told you before. Even as you can observe from our face now, we feel alive after your support since we got food support.
